about

This song is about realizing that sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is let them go. We wanted to capture the feeling of diving into a memory so we used some ambient samples pulled from a friend's dusty old record.

lyrics

I still remember the first spill on my bike, don't you
What a beautiful thing, what a welcome to life
When you scrape your knees on the pavement of your mind
I'll be there to pick you up, though I can't make it right

So ride away from all the pain
And I'll let go of your seat
The whole world is laid out at your feet
But don't forget about me

Every September was a horrible time for you
Getting ready for school, kissing summer goodbye
So when you pick a fight with the neighbourhood fools
I'll be there to back you up, but we're both gonna lose

So ride away from all the pain
And I'll let go of your seat
The whole world is laid out at your feet
But don't forget about me

I would do whatever it takes
I'd give anything for you
Know I've made a lot of mistakes
But not with you
With you

We started our journey practicing in a cramped bedroom space, and somehow ended up in an even smaller one; but our dreams have never been bigger.
