lyrics

Out in the courtyard, in the sunlight, she walks among them.
She knows her mind, she knows her mind.
Back in the city, I’m kicking rocks and I kinda thought that we would share our lives.
But it serves me right.

Is it all always the same in the end?
I was cut from the cloth of an ordinary man.

I wanna face it in the right direction.
A better version of me, a different person than you is on the coast.
I gotta go if it’s time.

Out on the turnpike faces turn back as the girl of the coastline rides.
See her smile, I know I can too, I just haven’t for a while.
If Mona Lisa was a picasso would she still feel the same?
Probably not, so why am I so hell-bent on change?

When it’s all always the same in the end.
I was cut from the cloth of an ordinary man.

I wanna face it in the right direction.
A better version of me, a different person than you is on the coast.
I gotta go if it’s time.

(Always the same in the end)

We started our journey practicing in a cramped bedroom space, and somehow ended up in an even smaller one; but our dreams have never been bigger.
